Plenty of homes and buildings around York are heated by water rather than air, and a good number of those boilers have been in place longer than the families living with them. Hydronic heat is quiet and even, but it needs a contractor who is comfortable with circulators, expansion tanks, zone valves and system pressure. RiverView Mechanical covers all of it.
Boiler faults also announce themselves differently. A furnace stops blowing warm air; a boiler drops pressure, develops cold radiators at one end of the house, or starts making a noise it did not make last winter. Each of those points somewhere specific, which is why we diagnose across the whole loop rather than treating the symptom at a single radiator. Every job starts with a free estimate.
717-810-7276 Request ServiceNo heat, cold radiators, pressure that keeps dropping, kettling or gurgling noises, a stuck circulator or an ignition fault. We trace the cause through the whole hydronic loop. See our boiler repair service.
A new boiler matched to your home and to the distribution system you already have, with the near-boiler piping and controls done properly so the unit performs as designed. Explore boiler installation and replacement.
Annual service covering combustion, system pressure, circulation and the safety controls, plus the quiet problems like scale buildup that cost efficiency all winter. Learn more about boiler maintenance.
Hydronic symptoms are quite specific once you know what to listen for:
We repair all boiler brands and types, from cast iron boilers in older York homes to modern high-efficiency and condensing equipment. The systems we see most often include NTI, Weil-McLain, Burnham, Navien and Bosch, but brand is rarely the deciding factor. What matters is whether the technician understands hydronic heat, and whether the diagnosis covers the pressure, circulation and controls as well as the boiler itself.
We provide same-day emergency heating service during our business hours, Monday through Friday, and return after-hours messages promptly. We always discuss pricing before dispatching a technician.

717-810-7276 See All Service AreasA boiler heats water and circulates it through radiators, baseboard or radiant floor loops. A furnace heats air and blows it through ductwork to vents. If your rooms have radiators or baseboard and no supply vents, you have a boiler, and the parts, diagnostics and service are different from forced-air work.
Common causes are low system pressure, a faulty thermostat, a stuck circulator pump, trapped air in the radiators, or an ignition or pilot fault. Check that system pressure reads around 12-15 psi and the thermostat is calling for heat. If those look right and you still have no heat, call 717-810-7276.
Banging, often called kettling, usually means scale or sediment buildup on the heat exchanger. Gurgling typically means trapped air or low water. Both reduce efficiency and stress the boiler. Bleeding the radiators can clear air, but kettling needs a flush or descale. We diagnose the noise and recommend the right fix.
Yes. We repair all boiler brands and types, including cast iron boilers and modern high-efficiency units, on residential and commercial hydronic systems. If you are not sure what you have, describe the equipment when you call and we will work it out.
